Selma Ali Yallah is a board-certified nurse practitioner with expertise in Psychiatric Mental Health. She got her Associate Degree in Nursing from Georgia Perimeter College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of West Georgia. After 10 years of working in the field as RN, Selma decided to pursue a master’s degree, specializing in psychiatric mental health at the Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. Selma has worked at the most prominent healthcare facilities in Georgia to include; Grady Memorial, Emory Healthcare, Wellstar and Central State Hospital in Milledgeville.
Her experience includes serving high risk mental health patients in the community on an Assertive Community Treatment team and acute inpatient treatment focused on stabilizing patients in
times of crisis.
Selma practices by the words of Maya Angelou, “I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.” Selma utilizes effective teaching strategies and Evidence Based Practices to empower patients to achieve optimum healthcare goals and
reduce recidivism
Medication
In some cases, we may recommend certain prescription medications, either temporarily or long term. Medications may be prescribed to treat conditions including depression, anxiety, ADD and ADHD, schizophrenia and others. Conyers Psychiatry is under professional care of Selma Ali Yallah, a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Who will carefully monitor both the type and the dosage of the prescription to ensure the safest possible use and efficacy. We may also recommend psychotherapy, even though we do not offer psychotherapy at our clinic we can recommend a therapist in the area that we collaborative care with to provide the best possible results.
